Kimberly Tignor
VOLUME II HONOREE
Kimberly is the creator and founder of Take Creative Control (TCC) and the Executive Director of the Boston XChange (BXC). Kim has garnered significant attention from creators by highlighting disparities in opportunity for communities of color in various areas of law and policy. TCC was established to fill a glaring gap in the social justice, civil rights, and creator focused advocacy communities—educating the very creators whose work drives culture about the policy and the legal environment in which they operate. BXC is dedicated to bridging the racial wealth gap through innovation and cultural diversity, providing tailored support to underrepresented creators at all stages of development.
Before leading these organizations, Kim directed policy at the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, where she worked on a portfolio ranging from voting rights to economic justice. Born and raised in Washington, DC, Kim received her JD from Georgetown University and her undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary.
